On Monday 26 November, I had to go to hospital for tests. After being examined by two doctors, controlled tests, and electrodes fitted to my muscles, I have been diagnosed with the early stages of elderly Parkinson’s Disease. I also have a secondary condition to this illness called Parkinsonian Syndrome, which is a condition that doesn’t usually affect people until on their mid 60s!
I have been put on a medication called Mirapixen, and this drug is taken once a day to help stop the tremor and muscle spasms that I have been having within the past few months… well keep it under control anyway – but they make me feel very tired, so I shall be taking it later than the time given to me on the instructions.
So Barrack Obama has been reelected the President of the United States of America for a second and final term. His opponent, Republican candidate Mick Romney conceded defeat after the President crossed the magic 270 electoral votes needed to secure victory.
The race for the White House was very close this year, but a series of gaffes throughout the campaign by Governor Romney made political headlines – and indeed the American people took notice He did well in the TV debates, trouncing Mr Obama in the first one, but the President bounced back in the second and the third was much more amicable – I suppose personalities and style also played a major part in this election too. The President, the first black US leader, has a more hands on, caring personality whereas Mr Romney seemed distant, especially after bring overheard at a private meeting which he was heard seeming to criticise and categorise over half the American population.
So Barrack Hussein Obama will serve another four years as the Commander-in-Chief before having to stand down at the next presidential election. He fought well… and I personally believe it was victory deserved and earned!
I have downloaded and installed Windows 8 onto my Acer Touchscreen computer on the day it was released, 26 October 2012, and I have got to say it did the upgrade effortlessly onto my Windows 7 partition.
I had two original versions of Windows 7 installed onto the computer. The original Windows 7 Home Premium that Acer Touchscreen came with, and I also partitioned the drive and put my original version of Windows 7 Professional that I owned on as well. When I upgraded the Home Premium version to Windows 8 Pro it left me my Windows 7 Professional partition as well which I have kept because I can use Windows XP Mode on it to play my music and FME fruit machine emulator.
I am having a wonderful time using it… Even though I have been using my Apple MacBook and Apple iPad and iPhone as well.
Well done Microsoft!
